Nato sees no imminent threat of Russian attack

Nato's top official stated on Sunday that Russia is intensifying hybrid activities in Europe but currently perceives no imminent threat of an attack. Despite facing significant resistance from Ukraine, Russia has escalated its assaults on the country and hybrid operations throughout Europe, according to the official. The alliance consistently demonstrates vigilance and readiness to address a range of potential threats.

At present, Nato does not see an immediate risk of an attack, the official affirmed, emphasizing their unwavering support for Ukraine and commitment to safeguarding the security of their 1 billion citizens. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed on Saturday that both Poland and Nato must be prepared for various scenarios, including the possibility of a Russian provocation against any Nato member, though such an event cannot be ruled out.

CIA Director John Ratcliffe met with intelligence counterparts in Russia on Tuesday, where he reportedly broached the subject of a potential Russian operation targeting a Nato member, though it remains uncertain if this was the primary objective of the visit. Germany's Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced on Tuesday that the German government will soon reveal the identity of the individual responsible for a drone attack attempt on Leipzig/Halle airport earlier this month.

Russia steadfastly denies any involvement in sabotage planning or attacks on European soil and dismisses such allegations as Western alarmism.
