My sister and I were laid off around the same time. We started a small business together to survive unemployment.

My sister and I were both laid off from our jobs at the same time, around the same period as our parents' passing. As our mother had instilled in us a love for finding hidden treasures, we decided to launch a small business selling vintage items. Her teachings on identifying valuable antiques and restoring items to their former glory proved invaluable.

Unemployment and grief from losing both parents in quick succession forced us to turn our shared passion into a means of survival. We started thrift shopping, estate sales, and antique malls more frequently. With my sister's sharp eye for unique vintage items and my managerial skills, we established Travel Far Now Vintage in 2023.

The business keeps us busy with various tasks such as sourcing, cleaning, listing, packing, shipping, accounting, and networking with clients. Despite the challenges, we find joy in our work, as it connects us to the past and helps us heal. Our vintage shop is a tribute to our mother, who taught us the art of thrift shopping.
