MOI busts three over unlicensed medical and cosmetic activities

Qatari authorities have apprehended three European individuals for operating unauthorized medical and cosmetic services without the required licenses. The investigation was initiated by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Interior (MOI) in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), following reports of illegal activities.

The suspects were apprehended after the appropriate authorization was secured from the Public Prosecution. Upon their arrest, the suspects confessed to the charges against them. The seized equipment and supplies were transferred to the Public Prosecution for further legal proceedings. Both the MOI and MOPH have cautioned the public against being swayed by advertisements promising medical or cosmetic services, urging them to confirm that private medical facilities and clinics possess the necessary licenses before availing their services.

Additionally, they have advised the public to ensure that healthcare providers at these establishments are duly licensed, emphasizing the importance of public safety and the need to avoid engaging with entities or individuals engaged in such unlawful practices.
