Missile Strike on Kharkiv Memorial Run Leaves 3 Dead

On Saturday morning, a Russian missile strike during a memorial run in the village of Natalyne, Kharkiv region, claimed the lives of three people and injured two others, according to local police and prosecutors. The attack, believed to have been executed by an Iskander-M missile, targeted individuals participating in the annual "Honor the Warriors, Run for the Heroes of Ukraine" event, organized by the local village military administration. Community police officer Oleksii Zahvazdin was among those killed.

In response to the incident, the local prosecutor's office initiated a pre-trial investigation into potential official negligence, focusing on whether the military administration adequately addressed the security situation and took necessary precautions to protect participants. The Kharkiv region has been experiencing a surge of Russian drone and aerial assaults throughout the weekend.

In Zaporizhzhia, a 73-year-old woman and five others were killed and injured respectively in drone and guided bomb strikes. Odesa faced a Russian attack on civilian food storage warehouses, leading to injuries and a significant fire. Additionally, Russian drones struck civilians in the Dniprovskyi district of Kherson, causing injuries to two men.

The capital, Kyiv, faced a third consecutive day of intense aerial assaults on Saturday evening, resulting in fires across four districts, including a residential building blaze that left three people injured.
