The Traitors Ireland returns for its second season, and within the first few minutes of episode one, suspicion was already palpable. Twenty-three fresh players gathered at Slane Castle, and alliances were already being formed in their cars. Siobhán McSweeney, the show's host, was quick to set the mood, cautioning everyone that "things are about to get real" before having them all blindfolded.

In the first episode, three Traitors were revealed, and nobody could be considered safe from the first murder. The tone was immediately set with coffins, eerie music, and the castle glowing red. The players had to wear masks to conceal their identities, adding an extra layer of intrigue.

Denis deliberately kept his psychotherapist background a secret, fearing it might make him seem like a threat. Fionula downplayed her acting credentials, while car salesman DJ claimed he worked in the parts department. Edelle took three male players under her wing, joking they would be "my boys." Nobody had been selected as a Traitor yet, but the bluffing had already begun.

At the Round Table, McSweeney warned the group that things were about to get serious, and the three new Traitors were chosen. Páraic K declared it "game on," and Carla was equally thrilled about the prospect of playing the murderer. Upon uncovering their identities, paranoia quickly took hold.

Edelle even drew suspicion for the seemingly innocent act of drinking water. Some players were immediately watched, while Carla faced the opposite fate. The Traitors quickly realized that sacrificing themselves could be the safer option. They had 30 minutes to collect pieces of an ancient Irish dolmen, assemble it, and bring back €6,500 to add to the prize pot.

During their first team challenge, disagreements arose over who should volunteer and whether €500 was worth sacrificing another player. Even the opening mission had turned into a game within the game. Then, an unexpected decision was made: everyone who successfully built the dolmen faced the same risk of being targeted by the Traitors. Even though Donal saved the day, his gesture left none of the 23 players completely safe.

They were instructed to choose a fourth Traitor, and a mystery player was invited to join them, taking the Traitors’ oath, but their identity remained unknown to viewers.
