KLS GIT Belagavi hosts Internal Smart India Hackathon

The KLS Gogte Institute of Technology (KLS GIT) in Belagavi organized the Internal Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2026 from Friday to Saturday. A total of 168 students from 28 teams took part in the event, aiming to create innovative solutions for various real-world issues. The two-day hackathon offered a dynamic platform for students to convert their concepts into technology-based solutions across a wide range of fields, such as Healthcare, Cybersecurity, Agriculture, Disaster Management, Education, Smart Automation, Transportation, Robotics and Drones, Space Technology, Governance, Heritage and Culture, and more.

The experience enabled students to move from identifying pressing problems to developing practical, effective solutions, while simultaneously improving their technical skills, teamwork, creativity, leadership, and industry preparedness. Notable entrepreneurs and industrialists, including Niraj Vernekar, Avinash Pauskar, Darshan Mutalikdesai, Raghvendra Patil, Koushal Kedari, Shriniket Katti, and Ganesh, served as resource persons.

They provided domain expertise, industry insights, technical guidance, and constructive feedback to assist the teams in refining their proposed solutions. The organizing committee comprised the principal, Vijay A. Athavale, dean Rudresh Magadum, head of the Computer Science department R.S. Patil, Sharada Kori of the Institute Student Placement Officer, SIH 2026, faculty coordinator Pavan Korlahalli, and various faculty members, mentors, volunteers, and student coordinators. The principal expressed gratitude to the management for their support.
