Kim Hyo-joo finishes runner-up on LPGA Tour

Seoul, August 31 - South Korean golfer Kim Hyo-joo finished as the runner-up at the FM Championship in Massachusetts, United States, on Sunday, ending her third win of the 2026 LPGA season. Kim shot an impressive 12-under 276, putting her two strokes behind the champion, Yin Ruoning of China. At the final round, Kim trailed Yin by one shot and carded a 1-under 71, with three birdies and two bogeys.

Yin, on the other hand, shot a 70 with five birdies and three bogeys. Kim won back-to-back tournaments in March but had a runner-up finish at the Dow Championship in June. She had struggled in her last five tournaments after the Dow Championship, finishing outside the top 10. With a chance to win her third LPGA title of the year, Kim led Yin by one at the 16th hole but missed a 7-foot birdie putt, allowing Yin to win her sixth career title.

Kim, the world No. 4, earned US$413,842 for her second-place finish and expressed her determination to win another LPGA title before the season ends.
