Karua backs Karangu’s PLP bid for Nyandarua gubernatorial race

Martha Karua, the leader of the People's Liberation Party (PLP), has endorsed Philip Karangu's candidacy for the Nyandarua gubernatorial position as the party intensifies its grassroots mobilisation for the 2027 General Election. Karua welcomed Karangu and unveiled his campaign on Sunday, praising his decision to serve the public.

She highlighted the growing trend of Kenyans stepping forward to participate in shaping community leadership. Karangu's entry into the race adds to the competition, with multiple parties expected to ramp up their recruitment and mobilisation efforts as the election nears. Nyandarua is currently governed by Governor Moses Kiarie Badilisha, who switched allegiance to the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) in July following his election in 2022.
