Karen O Misses Daisy Chain Fields Appearance Due to ‘Family Emergency’

The inaugural Daisy Chain Fields music festival made its debut on Friday, August 28, at Irvine, California, delivering a powerful message of empowerment and unity. Headlined by Olivia Rodrigo, the event featured an all-female lineup of Rodrigo's musical heroes and friends. With 100% of the net proceeds benefiting women and girls' charities, the festival raised an impressive $10 million from ticket sales, which was then doubled by philanthropist Melinda French Gates, bringing the total donation amount to $20 million.

Throughout the day, various artists expressed their concerns about the scorching heat, emphasizing the importance of staying hydrated. Olivia Rodrigo herself took frequent sips from her reusable bottle, displaying the "f–k ice" sticker. Fellow performers, including Kathleen Hanna, Mitski, and Doechii, reminded fans to take care of themselves as well.

The festival was inspired by the iconic Lilith Fair, which was founded by Sarah McLachlan. Rodrigo reached out to McLachlan during the early stages of planning, and the two reunited on stage during Rodrigo's headlining set. Alanis Morissette and Stevie Nicks also joined the performance, adding to the night's stellar lineup.
