Kandela Khap condemns restrictions on inspections of Haryana government schools

The Sarv Jatiya Kandela Khap has criticized the Haryana government's decision to limit public and media inspections of government schools, accusing the move of concealing shortcomings in the education system. The Khap's president, Om Prakash Kandela, spokesperson Jagat Singh Redhu, and general secretary Raj Singh Kandela released a joint statement expressing concern over the restriction.

They highlighted that many village schools were built with local support and donations, making villagers directly invested in their performance. The statement was released after Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda announced that unauthorized entry into government schools would be prohibited. This announcement followed visits by CJP activists to various schools as part of their "School Thik Karo" campaign, which aimed to identify issues in infrastructure, cleanliness, teacher presence, and midday meal quality.

The Khap leaders argued that restrictions on school inspections were the government's attempt to hide its failures rather than address them. They urged the government to prioritize law and order improvement, employment creation for young people, and tackling drug abuse. Raj Singh Kandela emphasized that government schools are public institutions and should not be treated as private premises where privacy concerns arise.

The Khap warned of potential serious consequences if the government does not withdraw the restrictions.
