KAA reports flight delays at major airports

The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has announced delays impacting certain departing flights at airports nationwide, urging travelers to verify their flight statuses with airlines. In a statement, KAA stated it is collaborating with aviation authorities, airlines, and other partners to manage the disruption and mitigate its effects on passengers. "Kenya Airports Authority PLC wishes to advise passengers and other airport users that some departing flights are currently experiencing delays at our airports," KAA declared.

Efforts are being made to ensure a smooth operation flow and curtail additional disruptions. KAA appealed to passengers to reach out to their respective airlines for the most current information on flight schedules and departure times. These delays are occurring as Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) faces ongoing disruptions.

On Sunday, staff strikes involving the Kenya Airports Authority and the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority disrupted operations at JKIA. A multitude of flights scheduled to depart as early as 8 am remained grounded for several hours, causing significant inconvenience for hundreds of passengers who needed to wait for updates.

The disruption has left travelers feeling anxious, uncertain about the departure times of their flights. Airlines are also coping with the fallout of the disruption, as they strive to restore normal airport operations. Passengers using JKIA and other affected airports have been advised to allot additional time for their trips and confirm their flight status with airlines prior to arriving at the airport.
