KUALA LUMPUR - Cheam June Wei has once again cemented his status as the unrivaled champion of the Lin Dan Cup, clinching a record fifth men's singles title in Jin Cheng, China on Saturday. The Malaysian badminton sensation defeated China's Ren Cheng Ming 15-11, 15-6 in the final, further solidifying his reputation as the king of the series promoted by Lin Dan himself.

June Wei's triumph in Jin Cheng not only added another accolade to his already impressive collection but also secured him a hefty sum of 200,000 yuan (RM119,700) for his outstanding performance. This victory marked his second Lin Dan Cup title in 2024, following his win at the Chenzhou leg where he outplayed former world No. 11 Zhao Jun Peng 15-13, 9-15, 15-13 in a thrilling final.

His exceptional comeback in that match, recovering from a 8-13 deficit in the deciding game, is a testament to his remarkable resilience on the court.
