Jika Umno pilih PN, PH perlu perluas ‘khemah besar’, kata pemimpin Amanah

Pakatan Harapan (PH) might need to widen its "big tent" concept if Umno decides to strengthen its collaboration with Perikatan Nasional (PN), according to Amanah Deputy Chief Faiz Fadzil. Speaking to FMT after inaugurating the Wangsa Maju Community Festival, Faiz stated that PH should "move forward" and expand its coalition if Umno partners with PN.

The political landscape in Malaysia remains fluid, with the possibility of a possible realignment involving Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) in the run-up to the 16th General Election (PRU16). Currently, PH, along with several other parties, forms a coalition government following the outcome of the 15th General Election (PRU15), while PN acts as the opposition.

Both coalitions have been cooperating in various states, including Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Penang, Kedah, Terengganu, and Kelantan, as well as subsequent polls. However, BN has since withdrawn from Negeri Sembilan's PRN on July 11 and has a consensus with PN on Negeri Sembilan's PRN on August 1, opposing PH in the process.

Faiz emphasized that PH would not face any losses if there were a change in political collaboration. He noted that the current PH-BN partnership is based on the principle of creating political stability in the nation. When discussing the potential for even greater unity between Umno, PAS, or PN, Faiz stated that each party is free to determine its own form of cooperation within a democratic nation. Ultimately, the people must assess whether the formed political coalition can produce a stable and strong government.
