Jayant Chaudhary Takes Dig At Akhilesh Yadav Over Caste Politics, Says UP Election Debate Should Focus On Youth And Development

Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) president Jayant Chaudhary criticized Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday, accusing certain political figures of using caste politics for personal gain. Addressing a RLD event in Lucknow, Chaudhary praised the legacy of his grandfather, former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh, who advocated for respect and social responsibility.

Chaudhary emphasized that the real issues should be addressed rather than focusing on caste, corruption, theft, and fraud. He highlighted several initiatives undertaken by the RLD, such as providing libraries to schools in Baghpat and allocating substantial funds for school infrastructure, to underscore the importance of development.

Chaudhary also questioned the relevance of the Samajwadi Party's politics, particularly ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections, and called for a greater role for the youth in political organizations. He urged senior workers to support and include younger members, suggesting that stagnant water becomes polluted when not properly managed.

Chaudhary used a metaphor comparing stagnant water to a stagnant political environment, advocating for change and progress. The RLD, traditionally associated with Jat politics in western Uttar Pradesh, aims to broaden its social base ahead of the 2027 elections, targeting a wider demographic including youth, farmers, traders, entrepreneurs, cottage industries, and teachers.
