Iraola's choice: £80m African forward will arrive before deadline

Liverpool has secured the signing of Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain for around £80 million. The 23-year-old France international is expected to cost between £80 million and £123 million, falling just short of the club's record £125 million paid for Alexander Isak. Meanwhile, Cody Gakpo is reportedly close to joining Manchester City, which could leave Andoni Iraola's team short of attackers.

Liverpool is also targeting Ismaila Sarr from Crystal Palace and Yankuba Minteh from Brighton. Sarr, 28, was initially valued at £50 million but could be worth around £70 million. Minteh, 22, is the preferred choice of Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola, who admires his qualities to help the club achieve a balanced team. However, Minteh is currently injured and is not expected back until October or November.
