Inside Dubai's Harrow School set for grand opening for new academic year

Dubai's prestigious Harrow International School is set to commence its new academic year with a grand opening for 400 pupils from Foundation Stage to Year 6. The five-hectare campus, situated in Jumeirah Village Circle, boasts state-of-the-art facilities including science laboratories, a two-storey dining hall, a sports hall with an indoor swimming pool, and an auditorium.

Executive headmaster Simon O’Connor emphasized the school's commitment to maintaining the centuries-old traditions and values of Harrow in London, ensuring consistency in the experience offered to students. The Dubai campus, operated by UAE education group Taaleem, is designed to accommodate up to 2,000 students at full capacity.

With tuition fees ranging from Dh80,000 for Foundation Stage 1 to Dh128,000 for Year 13 pupils, Harrow is one of several prestigious UK institutions expanding into the UAE's private education landscape. Other schools joining Harrow include Queen Elizabeth's School Dubai, Rugby School Dubai, and Harrow Abu Dhabi, which will also become a boarding school.

Meanwhile, Gems School of Research and Innovation prepares for its second academic year, focusing on personalizing individual learning journeys to prepare students for a rapidly evolving job market, especially with the rise of AI.
