GHMC intensifies mosquito awareness drive

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has ramped up efforts to raise awareness about mosquitoes and their larvae across the city. Residents are urged to dedicate just 10 minutes a week to inspect their homes and surroundings for any stagnant water, which can serve as breeding grounds for mosquitoes and lead to the spread of diseases.

GHMC's entomology teams are actively conducting awareness programs and anti-larval operations in residential areas and other high-risk locations. The civic body has advised residents to eliminate stagnant water from common containers, flowerpots, discarded tires, and other overlooked breeding sites. GHMC has appealed to the public to cooperate with field sanitation teams and make mosquito prevention a regular practice.

The authority emphasized that collective participation is crucial in maintaining a clean, safe, and protected city from mosquito-borne diseases throughout the season.
