Florida basketball lands visit from 5-star PG Cayden Daughtry

Florida basketball secured a visit from five-star point guard Cayden Daughtry, who ranks as the No. 3 overall prospect in the 2027 class according to 247Sports. The Florida Gators, one of seven schools on Daughtry's official visit list, welcomed the talented 6-foot point guard to campus between September 25-27. This visit comes after Florida's swift rise in Daughtry's recruitment, following a strong summer showing at various tournaments.

During the Bass Pro Tournament of Champions, Daughtry scored 25 points, along with five assists, four rebounds, and five steals. At The Throne, he delivered an impressive 36-point performance, solidifying his position as one of the top prospects in the country. Before Daughtry's visit to Florida, he will also tour Florida State from August 28-30, Tennessee from September 4-6, Iowa from September 11-13, UConn from September 19-21, Miami from October 16-18 and Arkansas from October 30-November 1.

Daughtry's exceptional skills have earned him praise from scouting experts, with 247Sports' Adam Finkelstein calling him the most skilled player in high school basketball. Despite his impressive talent, the main concern surrounding Daughtry is his size, as he does not yet have a commitment timeline. Golden, the Gators' head coach, has heavily relied on the transfer portal to build his roster, but landing Daughtry would undoubtedly be a major recruiting win for the program.
