Everton call off Armstrong sale after fan backlash

Everton have rescinded a planned £40 million sale of midfielder Harrison Armstrong to Nottingham Forest after a wave of fan outrage. The England Under-19 international, praised as one of the most promising prospects to come through Finch Farm, was a key figure for supporters. The fans sang Armstrong's name throughout Saturday's 0-0 draw at Bournemouth and threatened a riot if the 19-year-old was sold.

The Everton board unanimously agreed to keep Armstrong at Hill Dickinson Stadium. Manager David Moyes acknowledged the fans' frustration, stating that supporters are not always wrong, but also noted that sometimes managers must make tough decisions. Moyes suggested that the fans should consider their manager as an Evertonian.
