'Don't reunite Aaron-Wooi Yik for the sake of it', says Razif

Malaysia's badminton association (BAM) should refrain from hastily reuniting Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik, warns badminton legend Datuk Razif Sidek. Razif emphasizes the importance of a well-planned long-term strategy rather than simply bringing the duo back together. The pair showcased their chemistry and prowess at the recent World Championships, where they secured the runner-up position.

Razif believes that reuniting them could provide the best opportunity for them to challenge for major titles, but insists that their partnership should be founded on a clear plan. He stresses that the BAM must work closely with the players to devise a detailed roadmap covering their tournament schedule, physical condition, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.

Razif also highlights the significance of good communication and mutual support between the management and players. The coaches and sports science team will play a crucial role in maintaining the pair's competitiveness and ensuring they are physically prepared for the rigorous Olympic qualification process. Razif adds that while both players have strengths, their success will depend on how they address and compensate for each other's weaknesses.
