Child remains in hospital after fatal Tyrone attack

A young child remains in a critical condition at a hospital in Belfast following a fatal incident in Dungannon, Co Tyrone. Police were alerted to the scene on Lisnahull Road after a neighbor heard a woman screaming for help around 11am the previous day. Upon arrival, they found a man fatally injured and pronounced him dead at the scene. A teenage boy was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder and is currently in police custody.

The child was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries but remains in critical condition. Another woman who sustained non-life threatening injuries has since been discharged. Meanwhile, detectives from the PSNI's Major Investigation Team continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man's death. Detective Chief Inspector Robinson stated that the cause of death has not been formally established, and post-mortem examinations will be conducted.

The police have stressed that the investigation is ongoing and caution the public against making assumptions or speculating until further updates are provided. They also reassured the public that there is no perceived ongoing risk at this stage and that they are not seeking additional individuals in connection with the incident.
