Charlton sign Forest defender Bindon on loan

Charlton Athletic has signed defender Tyler Bindon on a season-long loan from Premier League club Nottingham Forest. The 21-year-old, who joined Forest from Reading in February 2025, has yet to make a first-team appearance for them. The New Zealand international played 25 matches and scored one goal for Sheffield United during their Championship campaign last season. Bindon featured in all three of New Zealand's World Cup group-stage matches, but they ultimately failed to progress beyond the group stage.

Charlton manager Nathan Jones stated that they had to react to certain injuries and that Bindon, a player they had been trying to sign for a long time, will bolster their squad. Jones expressed his excitement about working with the young defender. Charlton is the only team in the Championship to have a 100% record from their opening three games. Bindon could potentially make his debut for Charlton when they face West Brom on September 2nd (7:45 PM BST).
