Adakah PAS juga ‘secara teknikal’ bukan anggota PN, soal Tun Faisal

Pahang Chief Reporter Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz questioned whether PAS can also be considered technically not a member of Perikatan Nasional (PN) if its leader acts against a ruling from its highest council. This issue emerged in response to statements made by PN Deputy President Takiyuddin Hassan, who claimed that while PN remains a member from a legal standpoint, technically it no longer has a political relationship with Bersatu.

Tun Faisal's use of the term "technically" has raised questions about the management of PN and whether the status of its member parties is determined by the organization's constitution. He asked if the technical interpretation of this term can be used to deny PAS its membership in PN when it allegedly holds secret discussions with outside parties without PN's mandate and knowledge on certain issues.

Similarly, could PAS be considered "technically" no longer a member of PN if its president (Hadi Awang) acts against PN's ruling, including regarding the chief opposition?

Tun Faisal posed these questions to FMT, expressing concern that using the technical term could be employed to disqualify Bersatu as a PN member, which would, in turn, allow PAS, as the leader and organizer of PN, to act as it pleases, defy PN's constitution, and deny Bersatu its membership rights. The reporter also urged against using the term "technically" to justify actions that appear contradictory to PN's constitution.
