Vikings and Dolphins are perfect trade partners ahead of cutdown deadline

The Miami Dolphins currently have Cam Miller and Mark Gronkowski as their backup quarterbacks behind Malik Willis, but neither player has any NFL experience or shown enough to earn a spot on the 53-man roster.

Miami Dolphins quarterback replacement has become a priority for the team, and they are expected to make a move to add a new QB2. The Minnesota Vikings, on the other hand, might have an extra quarterback to offer the Dolphins. J.J. McCarthy, the former No. 10 overall pick, is a potential candidate for a trade. McCarthy has not improved this offseason and may not make the final cut, with Carson Wentz even potentially taking his spot as the backup quarterback.

Bringing McCarthy to Miami would provide the Dolphins with an adequate backup for Willis and give them an opportunity to scout a potential future quarterback. With the team likely to cut McCarthy anyway, the cost would be minimal, and Miami could obtain him for a late Day 3 pick.
