USA har inngått enorm oljeavtale med Venezuela

USA signed what President Trump calls "the largest oil deal in world history" with Venezuela, securing majority control over more than 65 billion barrels of proven oil reserves without costing American taxpayers a single dollar. This historic transaction would more than double America's oil reserves, significantly increase our oil supply, and drastically lower gasoline prices for all Americans for years to come, Trump wrote.

Bloomberg reported that the US would control 55% of the effective production from the new partnership and buy the oil at cost. The agreement includes 100-year leases on 17 strategic oil fields, with investments of over $100 billion, and is expected to generate over $209 billion in tax revenue for Venezuela. The deal is being negotiated by partnerships with private enterprises and led by Vice President Marco Rubio and Homeland Security Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Trump sees the agreement as setting Venezuela on the path to immense success and great prosperity. However, some experts, like Chris Kennedy from Bloomberg Economics, believe the political risk could make it difficult to attract oil companies to invest, fearing a change in administration or a new democratic government in Venezuela that might not respect the agreement.
