TCS techie on way home dies after reversing JCB rams his bike in Gurgaon

Gurgaon: A 27-year-old Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) systems engineer, Tushar Kumar, lost his life late Thursday night when a reversing JCB earthmover struck his motorcycle near Moulsari Avenue Rapid Metro station. The incident occurred around 11:30 pm as Tushar returned home after work. His Royal Enfield was hit by the JCB earthmover's rear bucket, causing him and the bike to crash onto the road.

Tushar, wearing a helmet, was rushed to Narayana Hospital in DLF Phase 3, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. He had been working in Gurgaon for four years and stayed with his uncle in Ramprastha City, Sector 37D, while his parents resided in Mathura. Tushar was their only child. According to police, a passerby informed them about the accident around 11:45 pm.

Tushar's father, Harish Kumar, reached the hospital around 3:30 am to identify his son's body at the mortuary. Harish expressed his shock, stating that Tushar usually left work at the same time every day and had bought his bike about a year ago to commute to and from work. He vowed that no one in his family imagined Tushar would never return home from work one day.

Harish lodged a complaint alleging that the maintenance work was being carried out at night in the middle of the road without proper signage or indicators. Police are investigating this allegation. Upon receiving information from the hospital, a police team found the JCB abandoned at the scene, bearing registration number HR-36-AN-7050. The JCB has been seized.
