Two women have been arrested by the police in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, for allegedly attempting to traffic three girls from the state to Adamawa. Police in Nakuru are searching for a middle-aged man who fled after officers raided his garage in the Freehold area. The raid resulted in the seizure of approximately 300 liters of a liquid suspected to be ethanol, packed in 30-liter jerricans, along with a mixing machine and other materials believed to be used in the production and packaging of counterfeit paint.

Deputy Sub-County Police Commander Ruth Kabete explained that the operation was initiated due to concerns that these illegal products were being sold to unsuspecting customers in Nakuru. The raid uncovered multiple jerricans filled with the suspected ethanol and other empty containers. Additionally, a white substance, a motor, Decofix paint, stickers, and several buckets suspected of being used for mixing and packaging counterfeit paint were also recovered.

The man of interest escaped before he could be apprehended, prompting a manhunt. Police have instructed him to surrender at the nearest police station as they continue their investigation into the seized substances. This operation follows a similar raid in Nakuru just a month ago, where hundreds of liters of suspected ethanol and materials for counterfeiting alcoholic drinks were seized.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen announced this operation as part of a three-week security initiative targeting illicit alcohol and drug trafficking in Nakuru County, in response to a directive from the government.
