Supriya Sule alleges PMC paper leak, seeks scrapping of exam

Baramati MP Supriya Sule has accused the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) of leaking a paper for the junior engineer recruitment examination, demanding that the recruitment process be scrapped. However, the Municipal Commissioner, Naval Kishore Ram, denied any paper leak, stating that three students were found guilty of cheating and their results were declared non-genuine.

Ram explained that the PMC had faced multiple demands to hold the examination at TCS iON centres, which were eventually accepted, leading to the examination being conducted by IBPS on April 22, 23 and 29, 2026. After verifying the candidates' documents, the PMC appointed 146 candidates out of the 169 vacancies. The incident came to light when an image of a question and answer options from the examination was shared on social media, leading to an integrity review by IBPS.

The investigation identified three candidates who had cheated during the examination, and the PMC has cancelled their candidature. The commissioner emphasized that the breach was individual and contained, and no officer or employee of the PMC, IBPS or TCS was involved in the malpractice.
