Springboks’ Mzwandile Stick shrugs off Dave Rennie’s scrum mind games before All Blacks rematch

Springbok assistant coach Mzwandile Stick dismissed the scrum mind games being played by All Blacks head coach Dave Rennie before the upcoming second Test match in Cape Town. Emphasizing his focus on execution between the four lines and achieving the desired results, Stick stressed that the Boks' attention remains on what transpires within the scrum.

Alluding to World Rugby's involvement in discussing set-piece issues, Stick joked that former scrum coach Daan Human would have insightful answers. He affirmed that mind games tactics were not his concern, stating that his role as an assistant coach is to ensure the players are well-prepared to execute on the field. The presence of former international referee Jaco Peyper as a laws advisor within the Springbok setup has helped the team address technical questions surrounding the scrum and match officiating.

Despite several changes and injuries to the squad, Stick believes the team can adapt, reinforcing that they understand their responsibilities and can convert opportunities into points, regardless of the weather conditions.
