See Kacey Musgrave Cover Dolly Parton’s ‘Here You Come Again’ in Boston
Singer also dedicated "Rainbow" to the late country icon, revealing that Parton was the inspiration behind the song
Kacey Musgraves honored the memory of country icon Dolly Parton during her "Middle of Nowhere Tour" stop in Boston. At TD Garden, she dedicated two songs to Parton, singing "Rainbow" and "Here You Come Again." Musgraves explained that the lyrics of "Rainbow" reflected Parton's wisdom: "If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain."
She also noted that many tributes following Parton's death have highlighted her generosity and humanitarian efforts. The tribute included a slideshow on the screens above Musgraves and a crowd harmony during "Here You Come Again." This was not the first time Musgraves had performed these songs in honor of Parton; she had previously done so at the 2019 Grammy Awards alongside Parton, Katy Perry, and others.
Following Parton's passing on August 25th at age 80, Musgraves expressed her grief and shared more memories of the singer on social media. Parton's death has prompted tributes from many artists, including Reba McEntire, Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney, Jack White, Harry Styles, and Ella Langley, who covered "Jolene" during her concert in Auburn.
Musgraves' tribute to Parton took place one week after the start of her "Middle of Nowhere Tour" in Chicago, where she made headlines for hanging from giant disco balls during her performance of "Rhinestoned." The tour continues with two nights at Madison Square Garden starting August 31st. Fans can find tickets and deals for the tour by using promo code COS20 at checkout.
