Sarfaraz Ahmed Claims He is Unaware of Interview of Imran Khan’s Sons During Pakistan vs England Test

Pakistan Test team head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed revealed he was unaware of an interview featuring former Prime Minister Imran Khan's sons that aired during the ongoing Test match between Pakistan and England at Lord's. The interview aired during the lunch break on the opening day of the Test, conducted by former England captain Michael Atherton.

Reports suggested the broadcast caused dissatisfaction within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), with claims the Pakistan team was reluctant to return to the field following the interval. At a press conference after the second day's play, Sarfaraz clarified he had no knowledge of the matter and reported no complaints to England cricket authorities.

The head coach stated the team had prepared to resume as usual after the break, with no delay or disruption from the interview. Sarfaraz defended his players, noting they had underperformed but insisted he wouldn't solely blame them. He highlighted that Mohammad Rizwan, Saud Shakeel, and Salman Ali Agha had also had strong performances in the past, despite their current struggles to score runs.

Sarfaraz affirmed his continued support for the players and emphasized the team management would review the squad following the series, potentially leading to changes in player selection. The team's primary focus remained on cricket and concluding the Test series against England.
