Safaricom reveals exact hours B-Live data bundle can be accessed after customer complaint

Safaricom has clarified the specific hours during which its B-LIVE data bundle can be accessed after a customer raised concerns about a perceived shortage of the service. This clarification came after an X user, @_Paiwpaw1, questioned why they were unable to purchase their B-LIVE data bundle when they desired. Safaricom's response indicated that the bundle is only available during a specific time window rather than being accessible around the clock.

According to the telecommunications giant, users can now only access the bundle between 11:00 pm and 3:59 pm the following day. Safaricom advised customers to purchase the bundle by dialing 544# or 555# and selecting PataMore Hourly Bundles. The company launched B-LIVE in 2025 in response to complaints from customers who found conventional data bundles to expire too quickly.

Unlike traditional data bundles, B-LIVE charges customers based on hourly internet sessions, providing users with predictable costs for activities like streaming, online classes, content creation, and large downloads. Safaricom's Chief Consumer Business Officer, Fawzia Ali-Kimanthi, explained that the product was developed to cater to diverse internet needs, allowing customers to have control over their usage based on time rather than data consumption.

Since its launch, B-LIVE has occasionally faced criticism on social media for issues such as fluctuating bundle menus, disappearing pricing options, and technical glitches during purchases. However, Safaricom maintains that the product remains available through its designated channels. The B-LIVE bundle operates within a designated availability period, from 11:00 pm to 3:59 pm the following day, and customers must purchase a new session through USSD channels if needed.
