Ridley Scott Says Alien: Romulus 'Was OK,' So He's Returning to the Franchise Because It 'Needs Some Help'

Director Ridley Scott has expressed his satisfaction with Alien: Romulus, stating that it was "OK" and indicating his return to the Alien franchise due to the need for assistance. The director, known for classics like Blade Runner and the original Alien, as well as recent work The Dog Stars, shared his thoughts during an interview with French outlet AlloCiné.

Scott confirmed his involvement in the next Alien film, aiming to improve upon the 2024 soft reboot, which received an 80% critic score and an 85% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite initial director Fede Álvarez's positive assessment, Scott believes the film lacked sufficient improvement. He explained his desire to continue the trilogy initiated in 2012 with Prometheus and 2017's Alien: Covenant, focusing on AI and its potential consequences.
