Rafael Leão heads to Turkey ahead of expected transfer from Milan to Galatasaray

Istanbul (AP) — Portugal winger Rafael Leão is set to move from AC Milan to Turkish club Galatasaray. The Turkish side announced via social media that Leão, 27, is traveling to Turkey to complete the transfer. Leão was featured in a brief video posted by Galatasaray, sitting on a plane and extending his appreciation to the club’s supporters.

The winger had previously played in the World Cup this year. Reports indicate that Galatasaray has initiated talks for his transfer from Milan. Leão is expected to commit to a four-year contract with his new team, according to media sources. Prior to joining Milan, Leão was acquired by the Italian club from French side Lille in 2019.
