Punjab Police Prepare List of Corrupt Officers

Punjab Police are currently assembling a roster of officers suspected of corruption and misconduct, following orders from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, according to police sources. As part of the province-wide investigation, officials are examining confidential reports and service histories of station house officers (SHOs) throughout Punjab.

The Special Branch, various police units, and other relevant bodies have been instructed to supply information on officers facing scrutiny. Authorities are also carrying out confidential surveys among local residents to evaluate the performance, standing, and public behavior of SHOs in their respective regions.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Faisal Kamran stated that no immediate action will be taken until all the gathered data has been thoroughly verified. He also emphasized that Punjab Police are adhering strictly to the standard operating procedures issued by the Inspector General's Office for the appointment of SHOs. Kamran clarified that officers with a documented history of corruption cases would not be permitted to continue serving as SHOs.

The compiled reports, encompassing details of criminal records and corruption cases, are anticipated to be delivered to the Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) on Monday.
