Police detain seven Yemeni men after viral video of dangerous car stunt at Jalan Sungai Besi

KUALA LUMPUR: Seven Yemeni men, including five university students, are under investigation for engaging in dangerous stunts while celebrating a friend's wedding, according to city police. Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa of the Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department confirmed the authenticity of a viral video showing the group performing risky acts by leaning out of and sitting on windows of two moving vehicles along Jalan Sungai Besi.

The incident transpired around 12:30 AM yesterday as both vehicles were en route to Jalan Bukit Bintang. The seven men, aged between 23 and 26, were all Yemeni citizens. Five were enrolled in a public university in Kedah, while the remaining two were university graduates. Zamzuri stated that the group's actions were motivated by celebration for a friend's wedding.

The case is being investigated under Section 336 of the Penal Code, which deals with negligent or reckless acts that put others in danger. If found guilty, the perpetrators face a maximum of three months in prison, a fine of up to RM500, or both. The public is encouraged to provide any information related to the incident to the Tun H.S.
