Opposition, netizens target BJP government over Gurugram going under yet again after rain

Following a day of heavy rain that left Gurugram waterlogged and caused severe traffic congestion, both residents and opposition leaders have harshly criticized the Haryana government and local administration for their inadequate response and recurring issues during monsoon season. Former MP Brijendra Singh shared images of school buses stranded near Subhash Chowk, criticizing Chief Minister Naveen Singh Saini and highlighting the poor infrastructure in Gurugram and Faridabad, among the state's largest and wealthiest urban centers.

Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda pointed out the soaring property prices in the city, arguing that adequate investment in drainage infrastructure should have been made years ago to prevent such issues. Congress leader Sheilza Bhatia questioned why the same problems persist annually, while former Congress Rewari MLA Chiranjeev pointed out the MP's absence from the public discourse during the crisis.

Social media users also expressed frustration, with IT professional Arun Mathuria questioning the logic behind buying a ₹10 crore flat in Gurugram without considering the basic infrastructure, and resident Neha describing the situation as a moment of "grief and sheer helplessness."
