Nollywood needs more love— Queeneth Agbor

Queeneth Agbor is a talented actress and the founder of the non-governmental organization, Queeneth Agbor Strength Beyond Walls. In this interview, Queeneth speaks about her career, humanitarian work, and the challenges she has faced in Nollywood. Currently, she is focused on her NGO, which runs an empowerment and rehabilitation programme for inmates, as well as working on the film 'Halima Abubakar: True Life Story'.

One of the most challenging roles for Queeneth was when she had to portray a woman suffering abuse in an abusive marriage. She described how the experience made her realize the importance of speaking up and seeking help for women trapped in such situations.

One lesser-known fact about the filming process is that some scenes were shot outside the traditional set using phones, as well as in the actors' homes or at specific locations. This approach aimed to make the story feel more authentic and relatable to the audience.

Looking back on her career, the moment Queeneth felt most successful was after shooting the film 'Namaste', where she played an Indian character and had to adopt an Indian accent. Her fan base grew significantly due to her performance, and she received accolades from her fellow actors.

The role that pushed Queeneth out of her comfort zone the most was the Indian character in 'Namaste'. She had to study Indian films, accents, and mannerisms to make the role authentic. This experience sparked her interest in Indian cinema, and she now watches Indian films regularly.

Queeneth believes that Nollywood has taught her to prioritize herself by establishing boundaries and valuing her worth. She emphasizes the importance of protecting one's peace and not allowing external expectations to dictate personal and professional life.

When it comes to collaboration, Queeneth is focused on her current projects and does not currently have any specific actor, director, or producer she dreams of working with. She believes that everyone should dream of working with her and that her unique talents make her valuable to any project.
