New York Mets reinstate slugger Juan Soto from the 10-day injured list

New York Mets outfielder Juan Soto was cleared to return from a 10-day injury absence prior to their upcoming matchup against the Houston Astros. Soto, a five-time All-Star, initially joined the injured list last month for the second time this season due to a grade 2 strain on his calf. The injury had plagued him for nearly a week before he left a game against the Dodgers with discomfort.

During the match at Citi Field, Soto displayed his resilience by scoring twice against Los Angeles starter Roki Sasaki before being substituted by pinch hitter Jorge Polanco in the sixth inning when the score was tied at 1. Currently, Soto is batting .283 with 21 home runs, 52 RBIs, and a .947 OPS in 84 games while playing for the Mets in his second season with the team.

Additionally, the Mets opted to send infielder Eric Wagaman to Triple-A following their loss to the Astros on Friday night.
