Modi govt. empowered minorities through welfare: BJP State chief

BJP Telangana president N. Ramchander Rao criticized the Congress party for treating minorities as a "vote bank" and engaging in divisive politics. He claimed that the Narendra Modi government had ensured equal access to welfare and development programs for minority communities, stating that 22% to 37% of beneficiaries of various Central government schemes, including Mudra, belonged to minorities.

Ramchander Rao called on Minority Morcha cadres to bring these initiatives to villages and mandal levels. He also criticized the Congress for opposing the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), alleging that it had created misconceptions about the legislation. The BJP leader dismissed the slogan "Vande Mataram" as an expression of national reverence, not directed against any religion.

He further accused successive Congress and BRS governments of neglecting minority welfare, including the Minority Finance Corporation, and targeted the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) for allegedly forming political alliances with State power parties.
