Manchester United's Michael Carrick has revealed that new £70 million signing Carlos Baleba will not be fit enough to make his debut for around three weeks due to an ankle injury. The 22-year-old Cameroon international completed his move from Brighton on Tuesday to bolster the team's midfield. United director of football Jason Wilcox described Baleba as "an elite midfielder with immense potential to develop further," generating excitement among fans despite the delay.

Carrick confirmed that Baleba will be absent for the Premier League home match against Ipswich and beyond, with the exact duration unknown.
