Methu to lead DCP meet the people tour in Laikipia

Nyandarua Senator John Methu is scheduled to lead the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) in a "Meet the People Tour" in Laikipia County on Sunday, August 30, 2026. This comes as the party ramps up grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 General Election. The tour will commence with a church service at ACK Ngaruru at 9 a.m., followed by a rally in Kinamba Town at 2:30 p.m. and another in Sipili Town at 4 p.m. Methu's leadership in DCP has been bolstered by his role as Secretary-General designate, and the tour serves as a crucial test of his ability to translate the party's recent high-profile rallies into sustained grassroots organization.

The Laikipia tour is especially significant for the party, as Methu and Gachagua have already made political inroads in the county. Gachagua, who left for the US on August 26, 2026, for a 50-day tour, had previously visited Laikipia on August 1 to rally support. Methu has increasingly taken a central role in DCP's activities following Gachagua's departure, including delivering impassioned speeches on the party's plans for the 2027 election and its commitment to free, fair, and credible nominations.
