Matches postponed as fans worry club could fold

The Isthmian Football League has postponed the upcoming matches for Maldon & Tiptree, a non-league football club facing financial difficulties. The club's next games against Cray Wanderers and Brentwood Town have been pushed back. Fans of the Essex team claim that club representatives have informed some supporters of their intention to dissolve the club's operations.

Barrie Drewitt-Barlow and his husband Scott, who purchased the club, known as The Jammers, in 2025, have been charged with various offenses, including rape and sexual assault. They are currently in custody awaiting their court hearing. The club's sole shareholder and controlling owner, Aspen Drewitt-Barlow, is unable to fund the team going forward.

The JFA has requested information from the club and will provide an update soon. Fans are appealing for support through an online crowdfunding campaign to help with a potential takeover or a new club. The club has already played four matches this season, including a 4-1 win over Leatherhead.
