Lowe’s returns to help sponsor Jimmie Johnson in his final NASCAR race

Jimmie Johnson, the seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, is set to make a memorable return to the Daytona 500 circuit. The race, scheduled for 2027, will mark his 703rd career start and his 24th appearance in the prestigious event. Driving the No. 48 Legacy Motor Club Toyota, Johnson will be piloting the car for what will be his last-ever Cup race, having spent 25 years at the highest level of the sport.

Rick Hendrick, Johnson's long-time teammate, has confirmed that he will be driving the No. 48 car in this final race. This is the very number Johnson won each of his 83 Cup titles with, a testament to the significance of this moment.

Lowe's Home Improvement, a long-time sponsor of Johnson throughout his Cup career, is returning to NASCAR to support him in his farewell race. The company will share the No. 48 with Carvana and Ally. Johnson expressed his gratitude, stating that he had previously used the No. 48 to win each of his championships and was thrilled to see it return to the car.

The team has worked out all the details with Lowe's, Ally, Carvana, and Toyota to ensure a seamless experience for Johnson in his final race. Johnson, who will turn 51 next month, will also have the opportunity to take the car for a ceremonial lap around the track before the start of the Daytona 500.
