Lagos cinema honours brave security personnel, boosts security

The Filmhouse Group honored two security personnel who bravely confronted a machete-wielding assailant during an attack at their cinema in Lekki, Lagos State. The company assured customers that security would be strengthened at all its locations. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday in the car park adjacent to one of the group's locations, leaving two people dead.

The suspect, who possessed a machete and a knife, attempted to gain entry to the cinema but was stopped by the security guards. The suspect reportedly became violent and allegedly stabbed a security guard to death and injured another. The police spokesperson, SP Adebisi Abimbola, confirmed that the suspect died during the encounter.

The identities of the deceased and the incident's circumstances are still under investigation. The Filmhouse Group expressed its grief over the incident and commended the security personnel for their courage. The company stated that the attack was unrelated to its regular operations and that it was cooperating with the ongoing investigation while enhancing security across all its locations.
