KP CM inaugurates 702-kanal Abbottabad Park

PESHAWAR: On Saturday, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi inaugurated the Abbottabad Park in Shimla Hill. Covering 702 kanal, the park boasts environmentally friendly baradaris, a 365-metre-long zipline, and 13,000 trees, including 6,000 newly planted. No trees were harmed during construction. The park also houses a children's play area, cricket ground, and six walking tracks for public use.

Separate mosques for men and women, a large restaurant, cafeteria, and three parking areas were established. Provincial Minister Meena Khan Afridi, MNA Ali Khan Jadoon, and M.P.As Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani and Iftikhar Ahmad Khan attended the event. The CM described the park as a gift from the Imran Khan government to Abbottabad's people.

He also honored the residents' support for Imran Khan and PTI. KPK received a budget of Rs. 200 billion under the Khushal Hazara Programme, with Rs. 150 billion for development and Rs. 50 billion for tourism promotion in Hazara Division. KPK's natural beauty and tourist potential were emphasized. Abbottabad's urban infrastructure issues, including urban flooding, received Rs.

1.4 billion in funding. DHQ Hospital Abbottabad's project secured funds, with additional support to come. The DHQ Hospital project was included in the provincial flagship programme. The Chief Minister reminded the Abbottabad residents of their participation in past protests and promised a massive turnout on 27 September, declaring it a day to alter Pakistan's fate.
