Korean response team continues search efforts for 9 missing in Nepal floods

Kathmandu and Seoul are anticipating that a South Korean search team will persist in their efforts this Saturday to locate nine South Korean nationals who are still missing following catastrophic flash floods in Nepal's north-central Himalayan region. The team, comprising employees from Doosan Enerbility Co. and Korea South-East Power Co., has been unable to locate the missing workers since the floods struck the construction site in Rasuwa district on Wednesday.

Ten other Doosan employees, who had been stranded at a separate site, have been evacuated. Despite the Nepali authorities' restriction on chartered helicopter flights due to hazardous weather and the impending threat of more flooding, the Korean response team in Kathmandu has secured six additional helicopters to aid in the search.

The floods have rendered roads and bridges unusable, complicating the rescue operation. Lim Sang-woo, a key figure in the operation, is leading the search efforts.
