King Salman, Crown Prince offer condolences to Nepal over deadly floods, landslides

JEDDAH — King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia have extended condolences to Nepalese President Ram Chandra Poudel following the catastrophic floods and landslides in northern Nepal. The Saudi leaders conveyed their sympathies to the president, the families of the deceased, and the people of Nepal for the loss of life and missing persons resulting from the disaster.

King Salman sent a cable of condolences to President Poudel, expressing his deepest condolences to the families of those who perished and to the Nepalese people. He hoped that the remaining missing individuals would be reunited with their families and that Nepal would not suffer any further harm.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also sent a separate message of condolences and sympathy to President Poudel, the bereaved families, and the Nepalese populace. He expressed the wish for the safe return of those reported missing.

The floods and landslides have affected both Nepal and neighboring China, with the death toll surpassing 600 across the two nations. Around 3,000 people remain unaccounted for, according to media reports and local officials.
