Josue strikes late as 10-man KL City beat DPMM

In a thrilling Super League match at the KLFA Stadium in Cheras, KL City secured a dramatic 1-0 victory over DPMM thanks to a late goal from midfielder Paulo Josue. The match took place shortly after DPMM had suffered a 3-0 walkover defeat to Negri Sembilan due to an influenza outbreak decimating their squad. KL City, desperate to rebound from their recent struggles, showed remarkable character to claim their first win of the season.

Just moments after the restart, DPMM coach Jamie McAllister was sent off by the referee for using foul and abusive language towards match officials. The drama reached its peak in the closing stages when KL City midfielder Gary Steven Robbat was sent off in the 91st minute for a reckless challenge, leaving the hosts with a weakened lineup of 10 players.

However, in the 92nd minute, Josue emerged as the hero of the match. Exhibiting exceptional control of the ball under pressure inside the penalty area, the midfielder calmly slotted the ball past the goalkeeper, securing the decisive goal and earning a rapturous response from the home fans.

Not to be outdone, Kuching City also made their mark in the afternoon's other match. At the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi, the team put up a relentless display, dismantling Kelantan Red Warriors with a 5-0 victory. Aidil Sharin Sahak's men took an early lead in the seventh minute through Ramadhan Saifullah Usman. Jerome Etame added to the scoreline in the 15th minute, and Safawi Rasid opened the floodgates with a composed finish in the 45+2 minute, making it 3-0 before halftime.

In the second half, Kuching City displayed ruthless efficiency, adding two quickfire goals in just two minutes. Etame doubled his tally in the 54th minute, only to be swiftly followed by Safawi's second goal in the 56th minute. This ruthless performance marked Kuching City's first win of the season.
