Inquiry findings will provide clarity on circumstances of Pims fire, says health minister

Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has declared that the inquiry committee's findings will shed light on the tragic events at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims), where 14 infants lost their lives due to a fire. Speaking to the media after visiting the hospital's children's ward, Kamal conveyed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's condolences to the grieving families, expressing the government's solidarity in their time of sorrow.

The inquiry committee was established by the Prime Minister to determine responsibility for the deadly fire. Kamal emphasized that the government and the entire nation stand in support of the affected families as they grapple with their grief. During the hospital visit, the ministers examined the children's ward facilities and received an update on the healthcare services provided.

They also discussed ways to enhance patient care and hospital management. Later, Kamal distributed cheques worth Rs5 million to each of the affected families on behalf of the government, a symbolic gesture to demonstrate their support. The inquiry committee's report will be crucial in clarifying the circumstances that led to this tragedy.
